ABOUT![]() PIPE Yanguas – The PHOTObiographer Artist and photographer PIPE Yanguas spends his life exploring the concept of connection. WHAT is it that people connect most in life with? WHO is it that people connect most in life with? HOW? WHEN? WHERE? With the concept of a PHOTO Biography, he allows people to see in a beautifully designed book how their lives evolve over time. Through his Dots and Lines work ( www.dotsandlinesworld.com ) he explores the DOT and the LINE as the only graphic means for his creations and communicates a message of connection.
PIPE originally studied Business Management at the University of Miami, followed by a residential design course at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. After a brush with the corporate world, he ended up at the mecca of art itself, Milan-Italy, where he lived and studied photography at the Institute Europeo di Design for three years.
PIPE is an artist whose legacy to the idea of connection became notable through his numerous and diverse international experiences. He was born in Cali, Colombia and lived there until his teenage years. After living a period in Dresden, Germany while still going to high school, he moved to Miami to attend the university. Except for the years spent in Italy, he continues to live and work from Miami. His dedication to spread the message of connection flies him regularly across the Americas, Europe and through the Middle-East.
Notable works include two coffee table books he co-authored as the photographer. In 2018, “Haiti Rediscovered: The Quintessential Potomitan”, became his first published coffee-table book. The book is a tribute to the Haitian women who have captivated the powerful female entrepreneurial spirit of Haiti. In 2024, “Wisdom of the Century”, his second coffee-table book gets published after a three-year team journey interviewing and photographing 90 people over the age of 90 in South Florida.
